This is the In-Between, where the spirits of the dead that have not fully passed on linger and exist. They can communicate with each other with relative ease, but most others cannot see them in their full forms. Only Death Elementals have the chance to see and possibly hear them, but most Death Elementals can only clearly do so with those they knew when they were alive.
